We have been learning about insects in Studio 6. We have borrowed this insect case from the museum full of common garden insects. Come and see what you can find before school...

Skipping

We all did really well with our skipping :-)

Monday's Reflection

Today we are in the lead for the Colgate Carton class race, but only just so keep bringing your toothpaste cartons to school!


Today we went for our first visit to Kathleen and Harold in the Life Education truck. We learnt heaps!


Nikita learnt about the body parts.
Mitchell learnt that the heart pumps the blood.
Callum learnt that the brain helps you think.
Toa learnt that the lungs help us breathe.
Ella learnt that our bones are important.

Today for our reflection we talked about what we are learning to do in class. Here are some of our answers...

Toa - I have been learning to sing the ABC song.

Callum - I have been learning to help other people doing their helping hands jobs.

Jessie - I have been learning to read a book.

Mitchell - I have been learning to read my browsing books.

Benjamin - I have been learning how to make a farm out of the blocks.

Nikita - I have been learning about spiders and about their legs.

Courtney - I have been learning to write some letters.

Erin - I have been learning to read a browsing book.

The farm

Look at the fun Cooper, Toa, Benjamin and Ben had today making their own farmyard! It was so good they had to keep it out and carry on after lunch time :-)

Henry

Henry was singing the alphabet song. Madison was singing it with him. Freddie was playing with Madison and Henry too.

Cooper's first day!

Cooper had his first day in Studio 6 today! He said he liked playing rugby at break time with his friends. Here he is making the alphabet train puzzle with Ben.

CHILL Time

Every Friday morning we get together with the other Year 1 classes for CHILL Time - a fun developmental / discovery time...

Studio 6 has been learning about graphs. We made a graph to find out what was Studio 6's favourite fruit.
Toa said that the apples and bananas were the favourite. Mitchell said it was a tie.
Erin said that the least favourite was oranges.
Jessie said 3 children liked apples the best.
Callum said that 3 children liked bananas the best.
Courtney said that the strawberries and kiwifruit both had 2 on the graph.

I spy some fun...

At lunch time today I saw lots of fun games going on... Benjamin and Toa were playing a game with the scoops and balls from the PE shed. Benjamin said he liked throwing the ball up in the air. Toa liked running to catch the ball.

I saw a whole heap of smiles and fun on the slide. Ben liked that some of his brother's friends were playing with him on the slide. Nikita liked going down second.

Caterpillars

We have been learning about Minibeasts.
We made some caterpillars out of egg cartons and we painted them with a yellow and black pattern.
We stuck on some pipecleaners for antennae and some googly eyes!
