Green Hat Challenge

The challenge was based on the three little pigs. Teams had to create a house made of straws, a house made of sticks and a house made of blocks. The big bad wolf then tried to blow down the house and they were so well built that he couldn't!! Well done teams :-)

How can we help?

Dilyn started a good conversation about how we can help our Kaiapoi Community. Lots of Studio 6 had some great ideas, some of which we are already doing. Thanks for caring Dilyn :-)

Wearable Arts!

Later in the term we will be working on some wearable arts outfits to enter into the school show. As a prelude to this, our buddies came down this afternoon and we had a challenge.... create an outfit using only newspaper and sellotape. Check out the awesome creations! Well done Studio 6 and 18 :-) Fab teamwork!

We are learning to...

Our reflection today was to share what we are learning about at school at the moment...

Fellissa said "We are learning about the alphabet".

Shawnee said "We are learning how to count back from ten by playing Zero to Hero".

Dilyn said "We are learning good mat manners and how to fill up other people's buckets".

Cooper said "We are learning to leave finger spaces in our writing".

Brooke said "We are learning how to spell heaps of words".

Bella said "We are learning about being good friends and being kind".

Ethan said "We are learning about doing good letters and doing them on the line."

Fun Fractions!

We have been learning about fractions this week. We cut up apples as a practical way to find out about 1/2 and 1/4. 
It's easy to bring this maths language into your everyday lives at home - e.g.. when cutting cake/pizza/fruit etc :-)
